Soundscape Design for Osaka / Kansai Expo 2025
I composed music that is to be played in the area around the pavilions in the open space of the Osaka Kansai Expo site, which opened from last Sunday.
My aim was to create musical cohesion by using as many different types of instruments and sounds of everyday life as possible, including the human voice, based on the concept of the area I’m in charge of, which is called “Town / Field”, and also the main concept of this project, “ensemble of life” and “diverse yet united”.
Huge thanks to Bruce and the rest of the team for their precise support at every step of the process, which made it possible for me to be satisfied with the finished product.
When you get to the venue, please walk around and listen to the music above and below the space. All of the composers’ music is also available online for those of you who are interested in listening to it but can’t make it to visit the site.
