The Juniper Tree - out October 2 via VIERNULVIER / Thrill Jockey
My new re-imagined soundtrack album The Juniper Tree will be released on October 2 via VIERNULVIER Records (original LP and CD release), with the digital release on Thrill Jockey.
This re-scoring project began when the Belgian cultural center VIERNULVIER commissioned me to compose and perform a new interpreted soundtrack for the 1990 film The Juniper Tree as part of their VIDEODROOM series in 2025.
Written and directed by the gone-too-soon filmmaker Nietzchka Keene (1952-2004), the film is loosely based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same name and is also widely known as Björk's acclaimed acting debut.
The album is available for the following formats:

LP version includes a 12-page booklet with liner notes by writer Anna Bogutskaya and additional artwork by illustrator and graphic novelist Martha Verschaffel
