V.A. Music for Siam

Happy to announce that I have a new track out today on Erased Tapes as a part of the compilation “Music for Siam”, alongside the other special original tracks by Rival Consoles, Hatis Noit, Daniel Brandt, Douglas Dare and Nick Luscombe & James Greer.

In December 2019, we travelled to Thailand, commissioned to re-interpret the sounds of Bangkok’s most iconic spaces as new original compositions, to then be performed live on stage at Wonderfruit Festival. The project was initiated in collaboration with Musicity’s Nick Luscombe and James Greer, and the resulting pieces highlight how much sonic richness this sweltering, urban organ has to explore.

A quote about my track:
Since I heard that the Hua Lamphong Railway Station is scheduled to be closed in the future, I wanted to put the train sounds of departures and arrivals that I recorded at the heart of this piece, so that the sound of trains fading away from Hua Lamphong would ring out forever for those who have a special attachment to this station.

Track list:

1. Midori Hirano - Hua Lamphong
2. Douglas Dare - Song of Siam
3. Hatis Noit - Wat Arun
4. Nick Luscombe & James Greer - Bangkok Memory Phase
5. Daniel Brandt - Tha Tian
6. Rival Consoles - The Giant Swing
